2027 Salem FSX LE 260BHLE

The 2027 Forest River Salem FSX LE 260BHLE is a travel trailer with double-over-double bunks and no slide-outs, available to order at Couch’s RV Nation. It sleeps 10, which is a lot of berths for a floorplan with a hitch weight of 500 lbs.

Larger families shopping for a Salem FSX LE will want to see where everyone goes. If you’ve been searching for a camper that sleeps 10, the 260BHLE deserves a close look. It offers room for the whole family. Because there are no slides, the layout is the same whether the trailer is parked or on the road.

Your first stop is the front queen bed, set against the nose with wardrobes and shelves on either side. It has no door or wall, so the sleeping area stays open to the space behind it. Right behind it, a free-standing sofa sits in the middle of the floor.

The kitchen runs along the roadside wall toward the rear. It has a pantry, a cooktop with a microwave, a sink with overhead cabinets and the refrigerator. On the curb side, a booth dinette sits beside the entry door. Rear roadside, the bath adds a shower, a toilet and a vanity, and it closes with a swing door.

In the rear curb-side corner, the double-over-double bunks stack two mats over two more, and each mat sleeps two. The edge toward the aisle is open, so there is no door and no private room, but the bunks stay out of the living area.

How many people does the 260BHLE sleep without a slide? It sleeps 10: two in the front queen, two on the sofa, two on the dinette and four on the bunks. Everyone gets a berth, and with no slide-outs, nothing has to be extended before bed.

Does it make sense for a smaller group? Yes. The sofa and dinette still give guests a place to sleep, so a family of four can bring friends along.

The Limited Edition Camp Ready Package covers setup and comfort by name. Power rear stabilizer jacks and a 12V power awning help at camp. Panoramic picture windows, carpet-free one-piece flooring and a full-size spare tire are also listed. Rooftop solar prep and backup camera prep make later add-ons simpler, though panels and a camera are not included.

The Camp Ready Package describes a lighter towable built with half-ton owners in mind. Dry weight is 4,314 lbs, the empty unit as it leaves the factory, and cargo capacity is 2,000 lbs. It measures 28 feet 7 inches long, 96 inches wide and 10 feet 6 inches tall. Tanks hold 39 gallons of fresh water and 30 gallons each of gray and black.
