2027 Cruise Lite 263BHXL

Families that need room for ten should look at the 2027 Forest River Salem Cruise Lite 263BHXL bunkhouse travel trailer at Couch’s RV Nation. It pairs a King bed in the front bedroom with a bunk box in the rear roadside corner. This is a factory-order floorplan, so you can build and price it online before it is built. One slide-out opens the living area, and the whole plan sleeps 10.

If you have been searching for a family camper with bunk beds, look at the rear. The 263BHXL puts a bunk box there, far from the main bedroom. Parents keep the front bedroom, and the kids have their own space in the rear. Value shoppers get plenty of room for the money, because the bunks do not shrink the kitchen.

Take the floorplan tour from the front. A crosswise Custom King bed is flanked by wardrobes, shelves and pass-thru storage reaching in from both sides. A bulkhead with a swing door closes off the bedroom. On the other side, a fireplace entertainment center faces the living area. The roadside slide-out holds a booth dinette toward the rear and a sofa ahead of it, with a shelf along the wall behind the sofa.

You step in through a curb-side door beneath the awning. Just aft of the door, an L-shaped counter wraps the kitchen. The sink sits at the forward end, followed by a three-burner range, a microwave and the refrigerator. A walk-in pantry sits beyond the fridge. On the curb wall beside the kitchen, the plan labels a baggage door and camp kitchen, so outdoor cooking has a spot of its own at the campsite.

A rear bath puts the shower in the rear curb corner, with the toilet and vanity beside it. The bunk box fills the rear roadside corner.

Count the berths. The King bed holds two, as do the booth dinette and the sofa. The bunk box adds two bunk mats, which sleep four more.

Package items do a lot of the setup work in the Best In Class Value Package. Sure-footed wide entry steps make the climb in easier, and a push-button power awning with evening lighting stretches the patio after dark. Power tongue and stabilizer jacks speed up hitching, a full-size spare tire rides along, and a rinse-off-ready outside shower waits for muddy feet. Inside, a convection microwave and the extra-large 12-volt refrigerator handle meals. Campfire-View panoramic picture windows brighten the dinette, which has Stow N Go storage below. A 15,000 BTU ducted air conditioner cools the coach. This Cruise Lite adds pet-friendly plywood floors and a solid walk-on roof, and the underbelly is enclosed and labeled extended-season.

Can a half-ton pull it? Start with the numbers. Dry weight is the empty unit as it leaves the factory, before water, propane and gear, and here it is 5,854 lbs. Cargo capacity is 1,828 lbs, and hitch weight is 682 lbs. The 263BHXL is towable with a properly rated half-ton. Before you buy, match your own truck’s tow rating and payload against the loaded trailer weight. It measures 31 feet 9 inches long, 96 inches wide and 10 feet 4 inches tall. Tanks hold 44 gallons fresh, 60 gray and 30 black.

How far apart are the parents and the kids? As far as the plan allows: the bunk box sits in the rear corner and the King bed sits at the nose, so bedtime and early mornings stay separate.
