2027 Salem FSX 190GT

At Couch’s RV Nation, the 2027 Forest River Salem FSX 190GT toy hauler travel trailer gives first-time buyers a garage and a queen bed. A ramp door, no slide-outs and a rig just over 24 feet long make it easy to get to know on your first few trips.

This is a small toy hauler for people who would rather spend the weekend outside than inside. It works as a mobile base camp for dirt bikes, kayaks or a pile of camping gear. When the toys come out, the same floor becomes your living room. For a couple or a small family, it is an affordable way to start camping with the toys along.

Here is the plan from front to back. The queen bed sits crosswise in the nose with overhead cabinets above, plus a shirt closet and a TV mount on the curb side. Outside, pass-through storage is reachable from both sides. Behind the bed on the roadside, the bath has a shower, a toilet and a sink with a medicine cabinet. The galley follows on the same side with a pantry, a refrigerator, a cooktop, a microwave, overhead cabinets, a sink and a second TV mount. The entry door and a roll-over sofa sit on the curb side. Everything behind that is open floor that doubles as the garage, ending at a 90-by-76-inch ramp door.

The Roll-Right-In Stand-Up Cargo Garage is the heart of this Salem FSX. The plan marks a 70-by-126-inch clear zone from the ramp forward to the bath wall. Forward of that, the bath narrows the floor, which runs 188 inches in all from the ramp to the bed. Heavy-Duty 1,500 lb Tie-Downs hold the load in place. Once you unload, the Instant-Patio Ramp Door with Rails gives you a ramp door that drops into a patio. Will a side-by-side fit in the garage on the 190GT? Measure your machine’s width and length against the 70-by-126-inch clear zone and the ramp door, not just the 188-inch floor.

Can the 190GT work as a regular camper when the garage is empty? Yes. The roll-over sofa comes with a removable table, so the garage turns into a lounge and dining spot. With the queen bed and the sofa, it sleeps up to 4. Pet-Friendly Ductless/Ventless Floors are part of the package too.

The Best In Class Value Package adds a Best-in-Class Extra-Large 12-Volt Refrigerator and the Upgraded Convection Oven & Appliance Package. A 15,000 BTU ducted A/C and a tankless water heater handle comfort. You also get a push-button power tongue jack and stabilizer jacks, a power awning with evening lighting, and backup camera and rooftop solar prep. A full-size spare tire with hoist, a hypoallergenic comfort mattress and an extended-season enclosed underbelly finish the list. A Grill-Ready LP Quick Connect is handy at the campsite.

Can a half-ton pull the 190GT? It is listed as a half-ton towable toy hauler, but the real answer depends on your truck. Dry weight is 4,398 lbs, which is the empty unit as it leaves the factory, before water, propane, gear and toys. Cargo capacity is 3,377 lbs, which is how much you can add on top, and hitch weight is 775 lbs. It measures 24 feet 4 inches long, 96 inches wide and 10 feet 8 inches tall. Tanks hold 54 gallons of fresh water, 40 gallons of gray and 40 gallons of black. Your truck’s door-jamb payload sticker is the place to start before you tow any trailer.
