A lake lot camper has to live well when everyone is under one roof. This Salem Grand Villa is a strong answer to that, thanks to a front lounge, a center island and a loft that adds sleeping space. It is a weekend camper for the family, with room for hosts to spread out and a bedroom set far from the front living room.

At the nose, a sofa sits across the front wall between two end tables. An entertainment center with a fireplace angles into the front roadside corner, and a ceiling fan hangs above the floor. Right behind the sofa, a roadside slide-out holds overhead cabinets, the range with its microwave, shelves and hidden storage. The refrigerator stands toward the rear of that run, and a sink island with open floor all around anchors the middle of the room.

Across the room, a curb-side slide-out makes space for theater seating and a free-standing dinette. Four loose chairs go with the dinette. Toward the rear, you reach the bath. It has a shower, a toilet, a vanity and a linen cabinet. The loft stairs rise beside it, with two wardrobes between the stairs and the bed, one with washer and dryer prep.

At the rear, the Custom King bed sits in a roadside bed slide-out with a nightstand, and the plan marks storage at that slide-out. A dresser fills the rear curb corner. The loft is a separate level, with three bunk mattresses and cabinets. Will the 42FLDL sleep a lake-lot crowd? Yes, for a group of up to 10: the King bed, the front sofa and the loft’s three bunk mattresses make the count. The dinette and theater seating add places to sit, and they are not counted as beds.

Value shoppers will like what the Best In Class Value Package adds to this affordable family camper. Easy-clean porcelain toilets and a tankless water heater make daily routines simple, and dimmable LED lighting sets the mood. A movie-night sound system suits the theater seating, and upgraded residential furniture sits in the living room. The kitchen is fitted out with stainless steel appliances and a big residential microwave. Ceilings reach 106 inches in the living room, with 84-inch-tall slide-outs. Outside, the gel coat fiberglass, slide-out awning toppers and walk-on roof protect the build, and the heated, enclosed underbelly is labeled extended-season.

The 42FLDL measures 41 feet 7 inches long, 102 inches wide and 13 feet 3 inches tall. Dry weight is 12,209 lbs as built, before water, propane and gear, and cargo capacity is 1,511 lbs. Tanks hold 40 gallons of fresh water, 80 gallons of gray and 40 gallons of black.
