2027 Salem Grand Villa 42DL

Hosting is the strength of the 2027 Forest River Salem Grand Villa 42DL destination trailer at Couch’s RV Nation. It pairs a rear living room with a center island and sleeps 10. A King bedroom sits up front, a loft waits overhead, and three slide-outs widen the floor.

For anyone weighing an RV for a seasonal site, the rear living room is the detail that stands out. A sofa spans the back wall between two end tables, with a fireplace and a ceiling fan to make it feel like a real den. It also gives you room to host friends on the weekend. The living area has seats for everyone, and the King bed sits at the other end.

Begin at the nose with the Custom King bed, which rides in a roadside bed slide-out beside a nightstand. A dresser and a shelf fill the curb corner. Two wardrobes stand behind the bed, one with laundry-ready washer and dryer prep, and the stairs to the loft rise beside them. Next comes the full bath, with a shower, a toilet, a vanity and a linen cabinet.

The kitchen comes next. On the roadside, a slide-out holds overhead cabinets, the range with its microwave, shelves and hidden storage, and the refrigerator stands just ahead of it. A center island with a sink has open floor on every side. On the curb side, another slide-out holds theater seating and a free-standing dinette with four loose chairs. The entertainment center is angled into the rear roadside corner and faces the room.

The loft is a separate level reached by those stairs. It holds three bunk mattresses, with wardrobes and a nightstand with shelves. Does the 42DL give a family on a budget enough room to sleep everyone? It does, because the sleeping count covers a crowd without extra equipment. Ten sleep here: the King bed, the hide-a-bed sofa and the three loft bunk mattresses. The theater seating and the dinette are seats, not beds, which keeps the count honest. That is extra beds without giving up the living area, and a smart value for your first few seasons on a site.

The factory value package puts real substance behind that. Stainless steel appliances and an oversized residential microwave anchor the kitchen. H-Track A/C ducting with RV AirFlow spreads the cooling, and a tankless water heater keeps hot water coming. Roomy residential-size showers, solid porcelain toilets and dimmable LED lighting round out the rooms. Living-room ceilings reach 106 inches, and the slide-outs stand 84 inches tall. Outside you get a gel coat fiberglass exterior, slide-out awning toppers and a walk-on roof. The underbelly is heated, enclosed and labeled extended-season, and the floors are real plywood.

This destination trailer measures 41 feet 10 inches long, 102 inches wide and 13 feet tall. Dry weight is 12,719 lbs as built, before water, propane and gear, and cargo capacity is 1,136 lbs. Tanks hold 39 gallons of fresh water, 80 gallons of gray and 40 gallons of black.
